Time Management - LESSON - 2

Everybody  is given 24 hours a day – be it  President of a country or a beggar walking down the street.  You cannot use tomorrow’s  time  today.  Nor can you carry forward today’s time to a future day.  That means,  as far as time is concerned,  everybody  is equal;  everybody has equal opportunity to make use of or waste his allotted time.  Unfortunately,  time doesn’t get its due importance.  What we fail to recognize is that time is more important than money.  Because, we “sell”  our time to earn money.  In other words,  our  income depends upon the utility of our personal time.  When I say “personal”  I mean those 24 hours in a day which only YOU can use and not the        free time which you spend during weekends or  holidays.

Perhaps,  the assumption  is that an hour has 60 minutes and the time span of 60 minutes has the same  value in each of the 24 hours.  If you just think about this for a few minutes in a calm way, you’ll see that it is far from truth.  A ten minute time span in the morning rush hour is not the same 10 minutes when you are returning home in the evening.  Or, for that matter, 10 minutes spent in waiting for your bus does not have   the same value as when you’re  savouring  your favourite  halwa.    Again,  while the happy time spent with your family brings you joy, the same time span may upset your mood  when your boss pulls you up for not completing the task.  Now, if you closely observe  you’ll  see that time can be evaluated in two different ways:

      1.  Time used for earning.

      2. Time used for yourself and your loved ones.

Every single minute that you spend can be classified under one of the above two categories.

Now you’re ready for Lesson 3
